Bagdad Portable Lamp - International Orange

Originally designed in 1954, the Bagdad Lamp is a brilliantly offbeat showcase of Mathieu Mategot's material affinity with perforated metal. A multifaceted, cubist construction with a comet-like tail, the Bagdad's sculptural design has proven timeless in its playful uniqueness. The new edition scales down the size by half and adds a further element of versatility by making it portable. Bagdad Portable Lamp is available in three colors - Black, White, and International Orange. The colored powder coating is UV-resistant, which, coupled with protection to electrical components, means that the lamp is certified for use outdoors, if kept dry. Like GUBI's other portable lamps it is designed to be kept and charged indoors. The USB-C charger in the base enables the lamp to be charged to capacity in three hours, providing eight hours of light at full intensity, 15 hours at half, and 50 hours at 10% - enough to last throughout the longest of evenings outdoors. Small brass ball at the top of the lamp, which was solely decorative in Mategot's design, now functions as a touch-activated dimmer mechanism, so Bagdad Portable Lamp can be switched on and off - or brightened up to three levels of intensity - with just a tap.
